STUPID

has a name. It's not George W. Bush, or people who support him.

It's people like Neal Starkman, who seems to think sneering at his fellow citizens and calling them collectively stupid is smart politics.

It took Starkman about 700 words to call his fellow citizens ‘stupid’ for not achieving his superior perceptions of the state of U.S. politics.

A normally intelligent human, even after the last 30 years of school performance decline, could have done the job easily in 50 words. And a really smart one (one of the few who feel critical of the Bush administration) could have done so in a 17-syllable haiku.

So it appears that Mr. Starkman is throwing stones in glass houses - which the Seattle P-I certainly is, for giving space to his schoolboy tantrum.

Sounds like Neal is having a flashback to “Plan 9 from Outer Space” where the alien commander rants at the puny brained Earth people as to why they will never win. Problem was, like Neal,he was losing too.

The only explanation I can find for Starkman and his “article” is the S factor.

I wonder … was Starkman sneering at Howard Dean, too? … You know the Dean I’m talking about, that “Cliff Claven: An obnoxious know-nothing know-it-all who just can’t help telling us how smart he is, even though we can all see that he’s really not all that smart.” (i.e. one of those “S” people)

Nice try, Jimmy. Are you suggesting that because I accurately popped Dean on the smarts question, I should not comment when someone else says that roughly 50-60% of the country is stupid?

Do you not see a difference in question one man’s intelligence, when he has clearly shown ignorance, versus branding a whole subset of the nation “stupid?”

What, exactly, is your point?

I think Jimmy’s comments sometimes deserve a theme song:

Trollin’, trollin’, trollin’ Must resort to trollin’… Though folks will just start scrollin’ Past me!

Haiku, is it?

George W. Bush… Oh, why would they vote for him? They are so stupid.

I’m a Democrat: My intelligence quotient Is stratospheric.
