VALUES CLARIFICATION II

In my previous post on the values issue, I pounded the fact the the Democrats are too dishonest as a party to merit support. They're doing their best to prove me right:

There were minor voting irregularities on Election Day — long lines, voting machine breakdowns, shortages of provisional ballots — but some people are now leveling charges of voter fraud.

Doug Chapin, a nonpartisan election analyst, finds the claims to be baseless. "There were no problems that would lead me to believe that there were stolen elections or widespread fraud," he said.

"There was no overwhelming reason to cast doubt on the outcome of this election," seconded Democratic strategist Donna Brazile, the campaign manager for Al Gore's 2000 campaign. "George Bush got more votes this time."

Nevertheless, many people have devised various theories, including stories of voters in largely Democratic counties in Florida whose votes were changed for Bush, phantom voters in Ohio and exit polls showing John Kerry in the lead that were truer than the final tally. Off the record, many Democratic strategists dismiss such allegations, but they also know such resentment can be channeled for political use in the future.

Note that last sentence. "Off the record, many Democratic strategists dismiss such allegations, but they also know such resentment can be channeled for political use in the future."

That is dishonest, craven and dangerous behavior. Our entire system is based on faith--faith in the electoral process and its fairness, faith in our monetary system, faith in the rule of law, etc. The lynchpin of the entire American enterprise is faith that the elections we hold to maintain the orderly transfer of power are fair and conducted above board.

The Democrat strategists blind quoted in this story, men and women who lack the courage to step before their own supporters and tell them they are fools for believing in post-election conspiracy theories, are contributing to the erosion of that faith. That undermines our system at its most basic, fundamental level.

These Democrats know the theories are false. Yet they plan to exploit them and turn them into another bloody shirt in four years, no matter the cost to our republic. A party composed of people who are capable of such dishonesty and anti-American behavior does not deserve the support of anyone who cares about truth and about this country.

It is when we see Democrat values on display like this that we see why that party is out of power and should stay out of power. They are just too dishonest to be trusted.

If the election had gone the other way, and it very well could of, you and the other republicans would be calling and crying foul too. Stop kidding yourself…dishonesty runs deep through the whole system on both sides of the isle. What drives democrats crazy is attitudes like the one you just expressed. A holier than thou, hypocritical bunch of BS. Just wait. The american people elected a republican pres, republican senate, repulican house and will soon be treated to a republican supreme court. Republican legislative/ excutive and judicial government. Power corrupts and you know what they say about absolute power. I think the demos are wise in raising questions and harassing the Republicans as hard and swift as they can. Keepem’ on their toes. Gotta love ‘merica.

Bull. Did the Republicans make up conspiracies to explain how Clinton “stole” the ‘92 and ‘96 elections? No. They wouldn’t have done it this time either.

You would do well to attempt to understand events that took place prior to last week, whoddy. And you would do well to bone up on a bit of history before spouting off your nonsense here.

oh good, then let’s just have One Party, the Republican party. That will make life sooo much easier. We could do away with elections altogether and just wave in the next republican in line!

Oh wonderful…the village idiots are coming out to play.

America was founded on an idea, and ideals. Our early history was a series of arguments over…ideas. Viewpoints that win the day do so on their MERITS. Viewpoints based on lies may come out on top (history can give us numerous examples) but they NEVER last.

Sow discord, fear and falsities for the sake of power? That’s your fallback position?

Bring forth your TRUE ideas, your TRUE beliefs in plain words, no nuances, no focus-grouped phrases. State your positions plainly and let the people judge them on their MERITS. The fact that you could not speaks volumes.

The people have spoken. You lost.

Let’s not forget the 1960 election, which is pretty well considered “stolen” by the Texas and Chicago Democrat machines. Nixon didn’t challenge it, despite some of his advisors saying he should.

Only Democrats think the courts should decide elections.

I think the demos are wise in raising questions and harassing the Republicans as hard and swift as they can. Keepem’ on their toes. Gotta love ‘merica.

Yeah, who cares about telling the truth, or supporting the nation — just lie, lie, lie to “harass” the Republicans! And when that doesn’t work, take a baseball bat to them:

http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/003053.php

Terrocrats lost in 2000 and the Republicans gained the WH. Terrorcrats response to that was to move Leftward and shout their hatred of America.

That lost them the 2002 midterms and the Republicans gained control of both Houses of Congress. Terrocrats responded by moving further Left and shouting their hatred more loudly.

Now Terrorcrats have lost the ‘04 elections and Republicans have not only held onto the WH, but voters choose to give them even greater control in both Houses. Terrorcrats are responding by becoming moving still further Leftward and shouting their hatred of America more loudly and shrilly than ever.

Our Terror loving, America hating moonbat friends here in the comments and their Terror loving, America hating party aren’t all that bright. You’d think they’d start to see a pattern by now.

If you really want to highlight the values gap between those on the Right and those on the Left, all you have to do is look at the way our Terror loving, America hating Lefties glorify Arafraud and damn America.

Oh sure, Arafraud murdered endless thousands, needlessly kept his people in poverty, repeatedly denied them the Stathood they crave, was the founding father of modern Terrorism, stoll countless BILLIONS worth of aid that were suppossed to help his people, but it was all very nobel, very just, very moral.

On the other hand, look, just LOOK at how America refuses to call Terrorists civilians as they fight in Fallujah! That is PROOF of our evil and we should all be ashamed. In fact, we should all celbrate every death of Americans in Iraq, because it just helps to underscore how we are there for an immoral, unjust and ignoble cause.

To sum up: Terrorist good, America bad. Always.

Secretly, the Terrorcrats want the Republicans to have absolute power, which is why they are driving voters away from their own party. This way, when poor little Amy has to pay for her own Band-Aid™ when she falls and skins her knee, it really will be all the Rethuglicans’ fault.

Bush 51% Kerry 49% This is clearly not a mandate. As the elections drew closer, the polls edged each canidate up and down, here and there, day by day. Had the elections occured a day earlier or a day later the results may of been different. It doesn’t matter, Bush won on Nov. 2.

What is ridiculous is the idea that Bush won overwhelmingly. Not true. As it ever occured to you that the Democrats also voted primarily on Moral Values? Democrats who believe with all their hearts in the Bill of Rights. Democrats who see the evidence of erroding personal freedoms under the current administration.

The skrewed up elections of 2000 brought to everyones attention the possibility of voter fraud. It happened once and it is certainly likely to happen again. There is nothing un patriotic, un american or dishonest for the 49% to demand and want accountablity from the election results.

The biggest threat, I see, to American values and security are the redneck, biblethumping, armagedon predicting, assault weapon toteling, jesusfreaks that seem to have come predominatly from the %51.

Whoddy,

You are a deluded tard. Your hatred is dispicable and you are a terrible loser. If it was all the “gun-toting, Jesus freak…blah, blah” that tilted the election, how does a Socialist state like Oregon pass the ban on gay marriage with a 57% majority?

Please answer with coherent statement, not just your typical Michael Moore/Karl Marx talking points…

Whoddy needs hisself wun ov tham spelczechers. That way it wouldn’t be further evidence that he is an uneducated, illiterate boob. He doesn’t believe in the Bill of Rights. He believes in the Bill of Clinton, who broke numerous laws as President, but nobody on his side seemed to care. Now he’s doing the conspiracy kook thing, proving that when the thugs can’t steal the election, they REALLY feel cheated. They thought they stole 2000 fair and square. I agree, Whoddy. Go ahead and find a truly independent investator to discover and PROSECUTE voter fraud. We’ll keep an eye out for the final tally. I suspect you won’t like the results. Particularly in Democrat strongholds.

Drinking from this post-election stream reminds me of something I read from Ann Coulter yesterday. I can’t find the quote right now and apologize if it isn’t spot on.… Liberals are like cockroaches. You step on them and they lie still for a while. Then they start crawling around again.

Posted by Jimbo on November 11, 2004 2:23 PM

Uh, Whoddy, check your rounding. Properly applied, it is 52-47. I realize the Old Media just love it the other way and their adherents like you do, too. Now, can you say M-A-N-D-A-T-E?

It’s a simple word, really.

Oh crap, what if they find out what lowhanded cheats we really are.

WASHINGTON — November 11 — David Cobb and Michael Badnarik, the 2004 presidential candidates for the Green and Libertarian parties, today announced their intentions to file a formal demand for a recount of the presidential ballots cast in Ohio.

“Due to widespread reports of irregularities in the Ohio voting process, we are compelled to demand a recount of the Ohio presidential vote. Voting is the heart of the democratic process in which we as a nation put our faith. When people stand in line for hours to exercise their right to vote, they need to know that all votes will be counted fairly and accurately. We must protect the rights of the people of Ohio, as well as all Americans, and stand up for the right to vote and the right for people’s votes to be counted. The integrity of the democratic process is at stake,” the two candidates said in a joint statement.

The candidates also demanded that Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, a Republican who chaired the Ohio Bush campaign, recuse himself from the recount process
