HE'S OUTTA THERE

NO PD Superintendent Eddie Compass has resigned. It's the first thing he has done right since Katrina.

Neither Compass nor Mayor Ray Nagin would say whether Compass was pressured to resign.

"It's a sad day in the city of New Orleans when a hero makes a decision like this," Nagin said. "He leaves the apartment in pretty good shape and with a significant amount of leadership."

Pretty good shape? Fifteen percent of its officers deserted in the middle of a crisis. Others looted during the crisis. Compass himself just circulated rumors and made stuff up about the chaos in flooded New Orleans. What does it take for Nagin to recognize that the NO PD was literally "no PD" when it was needed most? Sheesh.

Mayor Nagin and Gov. Kathleen Blanco should follow Compass' example. But both should fire their emergency management staff before they quit.

UPDATE: Ghost cops? Invented to obtain federal funding? Say it ain't so.

After all their rumors, they will join with Dan Blather at SeeBS and tells us it was fake but accurate reporting.

The first head rolls at the post-Katrina public career guillotining session. Huzzah!

I am curious to know if the 15% of the officiers that deserted ever existed in the first place?

Given the corruption of the New Orleans Police Department, would it come as a surprise if these officiers never existed at all?

Remember, in Democrat controlled areas, the dead have been known to not only have risen, but also voted at least twice. So, what are the chances that we will never see those 15% deserters until the next election takes place in Louisiana?
