Shatner Sells Stone

Did he overact when he passed it—that’s what I want to know. On second thought, I really don’t want to know that.

An online casino has a piece of Capt. Kirk. Actor William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000, with the money going to a housing charity, it was announced Tuesday.

—-

Shatner, who played Kirk on the original Star Trek TV show and won the Emmy for his role on Boston Legal, passed the stone last fall.

The deal includes the surgical stint and string used to permit passage of the stone, which Shatner said was so large “you’d want to wear it on your finger.”

“If you subjected it to extreme heat, it might turn out to be a diamond,” he said.

Yeah, I posted this story mostly for that last line. It should be read as Kirk:

Spock…if you…subjected it to…extreme…heat.…it might…turn out…to be a diamond. Spock. It was so…big…you’d want to…wear it…on your finger. Spock.

Um.….why would anyone want William Shatner’s kidney stone?

Man this whole movie star worship thing just blows my mind.

I think the kidney stone I passed long ago was bigger. It was an inch by about 1/2 inch. I can verify the old saying: “It feels so good when it stops hurting.”

But Bones, that’ not a stone, it’s a photon torpedoe!
