Free Steve and Olaf

Centanni and Wiig have been gone for about a week now and we still haven’t heard any news, that I know of. The whole thing is very strange (ransom note? video? hello?). Roy Hallums was held for several months in Iraq and was released unharmed, so I don’t automatically assume the worst here. I’m just uncertain as to what the kidnappers expected to accomplish.

They’ve been in my prayers but I guess another thing I could do, as Michelle points out, is wish for their speedy release here on the JYB.

There will be very little out of me for the rest of the day…but check back this evening. And watch out for falling mullahs.

My personal opinion is this: I hope they come out of it all right, but this is part of the risk of reporting from lawless areas controlled by thugs and populated by people who either support the thugs or are cowed by them.

As long as the coverage is sympathetic then there is a reason to leave them alone, or release them quickly , but if it is not then holding them becomes a standard act of Arab terror. I think they are going to hold them as coverage hostages.

Perhaps the Mainstream media isn’t excited about this one because as far as they are concerned FOX isn’t real journalism. They say it often enough.
