Well, you see, it's Pig-and-Monkey season

South Philly Imam was allegedly selling some hardware out of his clothing stall:

The weapons included two Norinko 7.62 mm assault rifles - one loaded with 30 rounds; three Berettas; a disassembled 12- gauge shotgun with a 28-inch barrel; a Colt .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun with the serial numbers obliterated; a Phoenix Arms .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun Raven model with three live hollow-point rounds in the magazine, and an AR-15 .223-caliber rifle with sawed-off barrel, serial number removed.

Tailwag to LGF.

On a tangent, notice how they make a big deal out of the hollow-point bullets. There's nothing especially scary about them; they're used by police departments across the country because they stop fights quicker and don't over-penetrate. But to urban newspapermen who spell Norinco with a 'k", hollow points get extra booga-booga cred.

You are correct: Hollow points have more knock down power but seldom exit the intended target and injure anyone else. Gun control idiots never know what they’re talking about, words scare them. The guy selling all the hardware was simply another member of the religion of peace. MA

A $20 Raven .25 auto with THREE LIVE HOLLOWPOINT ROUNDS!! LOADED!!!!!! Get this evil PAW (pimp assault weapon) off our streets!!!

The HP thing is cuz Philly is next door to NJ and HPs are sort of illegal there: legal to own them, but illegal to chamber them or shoot them.

The Norinco is an SKS. It is NOT an assault rifle, just a really crappy inaccurate semi-auto.

Nothing illegal at all with a 28” barrel on a shotgun; that’s actually fairly long.

“Three Berettas” Really, what kind? I own one of their shotguns, one of their pistols, and 2 of their knives. I think they make bows and arrows too?

Hard to believe anybody bothers to file off serial numbers anymore. I thought everybody learned on CSI shows that its no big deal to use a scanner to get them.

This guy sounds like he was runnin guns in da hood. If he was islam, it was likely Nation of Islam islam. Does that actually count?

So, what we have here is a bust of one guy, with an armload of guns, dealing on the street. Big frickin whup. Yeah, a clothing STAND. Not a STORE. Can we say sidewalk business boys and girls?? So the BATFE tracks the guy for 10 months and then busts him. 10 MONTHS!! Loser-ama.

For “two Norinko 7.62 mm assault rifles”, read “two cheap Chinese knock-off SKS 7.62×39 rifles”.

The Chinese (Norinco is the state arms company) dumped about a gazillion of these on the US gun market when their internal police forces switched to the Model 50, their version of the AK-47. Typical price: $129.99

Actually some Norinco officials were caught smuggling them to gang members on the West coast.

RR-

You got a link for that? That’s news to me, and I’d definitely post on it!

Hmmm, lemme think - it was a pretty old story. I’ll see if I can find a reference.

Hmmm, my error. It was AK’s smuggled by Poly Tech and Norinco:
