Back at it
Well, that was fun. A week of blogging at Hot Air was a real treat. that was supposed to be a slow news week but we had a former President die, Saddam executed, an African war begun and ended, and terrorist attacks to boot.
I'll still be taking it slow here, but for now, let me just point you to a couple of big items today:
CLIMACOGATE: A month ago I wrote about the New York Times' fumble of an abortion story out of El Salvador. Today, after investigation from the NYT's "public editor", it looks like their malfeasance is confirmed. Check out today's Vent for the whole story.
IMMOGATE: Still looking for Captain Jamil Hussein. Check here for a lusty give-and-take between Eason Jordan (yes, Eason Jordan!) and the AP's Kathleen Carroll.
As I noted in the comments, I'm ready to give Eason Jordan the benefit of the doubt here. Whatever he said about the troops in Davos, he did blow the whistle on himself about CNN's collaboration with Saddam. And whatever Jordan's politics, the existence of Captain Jamil Hussein shouldn't be a partisan issue.
Do check out Confederate Yankee's search for Captain Jammy through the pages of Google. You will be shocked to learn the things he says...don't get reported anywhere else. Ummmm...because Captain Hussein's just that good. That's the ticket.
PATTERICO'S DOG TRAINER REVIEW: An annual New Year's tradition, just like the office party and hangovers!
No, seriously, go read that. Patterico is the foremost watchdog of LA Times bias and mendacity, and he's got a bumper crop of it this year all served up in one convenient, meaty post.
