Good News: Mexican Drug Dealers in the USA

Why good news? Because Mexico's new President Calderon extradited them to stand trial in the USA, cutting them off from close communication with their organizations within Mexico. These are top kingpins, including some from the foundering Arellano-Felix cartel, and this was a step Vicente Fox would never take.

Drug dealers hate extradition. American prison is bad enough, and now and then we actually execute drug dealers who murder Americans. Colombia's Pablo Escobar committed some of his worst terrorism in order to prevent his extradition to the USA.

One problem is that Mexico cannot legally extradite anyone that faces the death penalty here in the US. So I would imagine that the terms of the extradition will remove that from becoming a possiblity.
