Taliban spokesman arrested with anthrax?
It's the first I'd heard of it, but of course Allah didn't let it slide. Afghani cops arrested a Taliban spokesman in Afghanistan and supposedly found some interesting party favors in his house...
Afghan agents say they arrested Muhammad Hanif in the eastern province of Nangarhar near the border with Pakistan on Monday.AFP has pretty much the same story here. Two others travelling with him were also apprehended.
Nangarhar Governor Gul Aghar Sherzai said he had been picked up in a house which also contained what he described as packets of anthrax powder.
He did not say if the powder found was the deadly anthrax bacteria, or how much of it there was. Local intelligence officials and police would not confirm any discovery of anthrax.
"Not confirming it" isn't as dispositive as denying it, but obviously this story is still going down with a shaker of salt at this point.
Which brings me to my big point here...why hasn't any mainstream journalist--or even a blogger--been following up on this? It was over ten days ago and I would think people would REALLY LIKE TO KNOW whether or not the Taliban actually has a germ-warfare stockpile.
I mean, you know, another one.
