European Union Comic Books

Allah links to this Telegraph report of a liberal party within the EUParliament that's publishing its own super-duper EU comic book adventure, with a dazzling EU-MP engaging in all sorts of espionage and skullduggery, one of them against "Dong Fang"--an analogue/racist cariacature of China.

Now: let me remind JYB readers that this is not the first EU venture into comic books.

You really owe it to yourself to check that out.

PS What is up with liberals writing themselves into goofy cartoons?

PPS: Note that the main character is named "Elisa Correr".

"Correr" is Spanish for "to run".

Capt. Euro? I picture him wielding a copy of the European constitution to crush his enemies. His special power would be to lull people into a coma by reciting the constitution and his weakness would be a strong revulsion of the any religious text.

Captain Euro? Elisa Correr? Take a walk down memory lane and look at the Comic Art pages for Captain America and Wonder Woman. Compare and contrast. Talk amongst yourselves. Captain Euro indeed. Hrmph!

Oh. My. God. That Captain Euro thing is utterly earnest and serious, isn’t it? I was honestly expecting it to be a parody or something like the Ambiguously Gay Duo.

Interestingly, Elisa’s last name, when made into a reflexive verb (correrse) is slang for having an orgasm.
