Make Your Own Cologne
Blog-buddy Dave at Garfield Ridge has caught a wild hare and decided he needs a new scent. I know how these sudden changes sometimes catch you out; why, one time recently I just decided I needed a new hairstyle.
Actually, I didn't really decide it so much as the barber mistakenly used electric clippers instead of comb-and-scissors like I'd asked, and I kinda stuck with it. Oh, and by "recently" I mean fourteen years ago.
Anyway, Dave's spoor: he's soliciting requests, or, well, suggestions, from his readers for a new scent, something that would be an improvement on "that Dave smell". I got one for you, and it's a "green" alternative to boot: make your own bay rum. It involves actually crushing bay leaves and rosemary and covering them in...rum. Doesn't say what kind: the Captain? Light Bacardi? 101 Proof Jamaican? Then you leave it in a mason jar to percolate. Serve in a silver julep cup with a mint sprig.
Anyway, if you wanna smell like a grog-sodden pirate who's been cutting the grass, there you go. Gotta be better than Eau de Bin Laden.
Me, I'm sticking with Degree Sport anti-perspirant, Coast soap, and deer pheromones (in season).
