More Retro Hotness, This Time Skank-Free
Had some fun with this video posting the other day. It ended up being written about on Hot Air with well over a hundred comments, some of which praised it and some of which thought it was skanky trash. Funniest part was RightWingSparkle and I telling Allahpundit to lighten up about it.
I posted it mainly because of the pro-troop angle. That it was skanky trash, I can't really dispute, though it was fun skanky trash, and came off as a lot more wholesome than most videos these days.
Anyway, by way of penance, here's another retro act from the forties. Some girls you just want to see at the USO shows; some you want to bring home to Mama. I've never bought music by Christina Aguilera, but I have bought music by Cari Lee Merritt:

Nobody Does It Like Cari Lee
Here's Cari Lee and the Saddle-Ites, sort of a forties Western Swing/ Django Reinhart act. That site has several mp3's you can download. (Best one is "I'm Hoping That You're Hoping") And here's Cari Lee and the Contenders, a different band that gives her more of an early fifties sound--Peggy Lee, but less nasal and more sultry. More free downloads, but the best song on the album (Burnt Toast and Black Coffee) you'll have to get from ITunes.
