This may be pretty big
Jamglue is a site where you can upload and mix your own tracks like a club DJ and share it a la YouTube. The site seems a little slow and buggy but it's an awfully cool idea. Unfortunately the fan-generated mixes they've put up there are pretty lame so far, but that's OK because I have other plans for this.
Of particular interest to me is the ability to capture audio from YouTube files and put it into a mix. I haven't had a chance to test that out yet, but the opportunities for political parody seem priceless. I'm thinking Rosie O and "They're coming to take me away".
PS: Here's an example of this technology, um, not being used to its full potential. Check out this rap and see if you can tell the moment when the amateur augmentation begins. (MAJOR CONTENT WARNING for pathetic gangsta-rap language. And if you're still listening ninety seconds into this mess you're just torturing yourself.)
"OH, YOU DON'T SAY?" UPDATE: Ricky Martin defends gay musicians. Nice of him to go out on a limb for them.
