Arsenal in Matamoros, Mexico
Interesting look at how the blogosphere and online media work--a reliable source passed along a story to me today about an arms seizure in Matamoros, Mexico on Feb. 11--right across the border from Brownsville, Texas. There was no attribution and I thought it might have been an internal US government report, since it had passed through some federal e-mail addresses.
Instead I tracked it down to its original source: the Northeast Intelligence Network. While Allahpundit often scoffs at them as "the world's most alarmist website", in this case, their photography and story speak for themselves. Interestingly the truck full of guns and ammunition had Texas plates, so it is possible that the truckers were bringing a load of ordnance out of the United States to equip the cartels in their ongoing battles.
The border is a dangerous place these days.
