Cheerleader for Crazytown High Claims Michelle Malkin is an Apostate Truther

So back in March 2002, Michelle Malkin wrote a column in which she questioned some of the reports about the 9/11 hijackings. Not one of her best columns, but at the time one could be forgiven for not believing every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of Norm Mineta, and calling for a more complete release of information:

The eight-mile-wide debris field [from Flight 93] seems to bolster claims of an on-board explosion. So did the discovery of a one-ton chunk of the plane's engine far from the rest of the crash site - which some say points to evidence that a heat-seeking missile targeted the flight. Then there's the eight-minute gap from the time all cell phone calls from the plane ceased and the time it crashed.

One of the Malkin hate sites saw this and then a 9-11 Truth movement putz at PrisonPlanet.com picked up on it, taking that to mean that Michelle had been a secret truther herself in 2002:

Deliciously ironic therefore it is to have uncovered one of her columns from 2002, by way of the website michellemalkinisanidiot.com, in which she grills the official story, sounding far more like a "truther" than her incarnation today as a Neo-Con pin-up girl spouting phony indignation at Alex Jones and other 9/11 truth movement leaders.

So what changed Michelle? Did you drink the Neo-Con cool aid or was it an intimate call from your friend Bill O'Reilly that swung it?

Rest assured, next time Malkin or [George] Monbiot open their mouths to trash 9/11 truth we will throw this back in their faces - but it hardly seems necessary to rebut these people as Malkin and the rest of the debunkaholics seem to do an awfully good job of making themselves look like complete idiots with no effort on our behalf.

See, the difference here is that once evidence did come out, Michelle was able to evaluate it and arrive at a reasonable conclusion.

The other difference, of course, is that even if she did float the possibility (one that many people were talking about then) that an F-16 shot down Flight 93 with a missile, the idea behind that theory was that the decision might have been reached to prevent Flight 93 from reaching DC and acting as a fourth terrorist suicide bomb against the U.S. Capitol.

In other words, Michelle knew quite clearly then that the people responsible for the 9-11 attacks were Al Qaeda. A little later in the column--on another angle about the possibility of a gunshot onboard American Flight 11, she refers to a suppressed FAA report that "detailed the alleged shooting of Flight 11 passenger Daniel Lewin by hijacker Satam Al Suqami."

Not by Dick Cheney. Not by Paul Wolfowitz. Not by Ariel Sharon. Not by some secret cabal of Cthulu-worshipping Blackwater wet-work ninjas who snuck in and wired up WTC-7 with invisible gelignite on Sept. 10th. By the Al Qaeda hijackers.

That leaves a few miles of daylight between Michelle v. 2002 and Rosie O'Donnell or Alex Jones, who think our own government blew up the Towers and are just pretending it was Al Qaeda. But by wackadoodle Truther logic, even though she never shared the central tenet of Trutherism and regards it (and its degenerate priesthood) with alarmed contempt, Michelle's questions about a few details in the government narrative somehow mean she used to be one of them. Until O'Reilly whispered his sweet nothings to her, this PrisonPlanet genius would have us believe, she was no different from that guy who builds chickenwire replicas of the WTC and yanks on them to "prove" the real thing couldn't have been destroyed by planes.

And also by wackadoodle Truther logic, that means for some reason that she is never allowed to criticize them again. Whew, problem solved!
