Car stuff: Ever wonder why we don't import cars from China? These videos are reason enough for me. Be sure to check out the links to the hair-raising Landwind SUV crash-test videos, too.

I find these things are very uncomfortable to watch--especially the one from inside the crumpling Landwind. Yeesh.

PS: Why I drive an SUV and not a Honda Civic. Not that I buzz through intersections at 60 mph, but you never know what's going to happen on California roads.

About 450,000 Chinese-made tires sold in the U.S. -- and possibly many more -- may lack an important safety feature, according to federal regulators and the U.S. distributor that helped design them. But the task of identifying who bought the defective tires and getting them off the road has been complicated by litigation and holes in the nation's product-recall system.
