Not at all Keene on CAIR

Had a conversation with my dad the other day in which I compared CAIR to Joe Colombo's Italian "advocacy" group. Couldn't remember the group's name, but I remember that in Godfather III it became Joey Zasa's "Marconi Society". (Zasa, like Colombo, was assassinated at a society event.) I thought, "Hm, that might make a good blog post" and promptly forgot about it. However, my mental emanations seem to have surged through the ether to David Keene of the American Conservative Union:

Mr. Keene compared CAIR to the emergence of the Italian-American Anti-Defamation League of the 1970s, which he said became "particularly upset whenever anyone mentioned the existence of the 'Mafia,' which they took as implying that Italian-Americans were all Mafioso or criminals.

"If someone used the word in public, [the Italian-American Anti-Defamation League] was willing to stage demonstrations on the grounds that its usage was racist and that, anyhow, the Mafia didn't exist. People began to ignore the League because what its leaders were insisting on as true just didn't match up very well with the world we live in."

Mr. Keene said CAIR feeds negative perceptions of Islam with a similarly censorious and hypersensitive attitude toward American newspapers, magazines, and radio and television networks.

Censorious and hypersensitive? Wherever could he get that idea?

In that linked post, I mused that "A personal chewing-out by Ibrahim Hooper is a prize any right-wing blogger would aspire to." But CAIR reserves the platinum-plus, special big-league ostracism for the Sweetheart of the JYB Audrey Hudson. And it looks like they did it again:

A reporter for The Washington Times was the only reporter asked to leave the room today. After she was escorted out, the doors to the session, which had remained open, were closed.
Dollars to donuts I know that Wash Times reporter is!

Related: My thoughts on Hard Jihad versus Soft Jihad--complete with tentative Godfather analogy. Didn't get much linkage at the time, but lit might be worth your time. After all, this is the internet. You can either read that erudite discourse or go see some nekkid women on a trampoline or something.

Hey, come back!
