The Usual Suspects in the Red Mosque

Remember the part in The Usual Suspects when they've all been rounded up by the NYPD, and are sitting in jail seething, and Benicio del Toro says "You do some time, they never let you go. You know. They treat you like a criminal. I'm not a criminal. "
Kevin Pollak, who knows quite well what del Toro's character really is, responds incredulously, "You are a criminal!"
To which del Toro replies,"Now why'd you got to go and do that? I'm tryin' to make a point."

Anyway, I thought about that exchange when the Red Mosque brother who is still holding out was whining to Dawn today:

He said he was not ready to surrender but he feared the post-arrest humiliation. He claimed that his arrested brother Maulana Abdul Aziz was coerced to record a TV interview. He said he and his companions should not be treated like criminals.
