I find this statistic very difficult to believe. Of the hundreds of people I know, I believe only a few have firearms.

I think you are overlooking those of us who have multiple weapons who make up for the those who have none.

Let’s see.… my folks have.…. the blunderbuss, three antique revolvers, five hunting rifles of various calibers, six pistols, two modern revolvers and three BB guns.

That’s either 17 or 20 guns, for two or five people, depending on how you figure it. (Mom and dad are keeping my brother and my guns while we’re in the service and/or renting in liberal areas.)

I think they may be figuring a bit low. Most of the gun folks I know will NEVER tell you how many guns they really own— given the current climate, it’s too dangerous.

11% short? not hardly! remember that we have arround 12% prison population, and I’d just as soon they not be allowed to have weapons while in the big house. Of course, that might be a solution for prison violence, give the loser in any fight a derringer with two rounds. Just maske sure he is no where near any guards.

12% prison population? I think it’s less than 1%. In fact, having googled it, I’m sure that it is - it’s closer to 0.7%.
