See-Dub's theory of moonbats: they withdraw from sunlight

Ed Driscoll (and James Taranto) offer up some more evidence that blogs are getting the word out around the MSM gatekeepers about the morons at anti-victory protests.

All in all, I think the blogospheric coverage of the 9/15 protests is another data point in the theory I advanced here: the anti-victory Left is retreating from its mass demonstration tactics precisely because bloggers are telling the truth about them.

You know who I credit with diverting attention away from these mass protests? Zombie. And to a lesser extent lately, Protest Warrior--a group that has largely brought about its own obsolescence. Zombie's coverage of what actually goes on at these awful Bay Area events--taking pictures the MSM would never publish--has devalued the tactic. Since the Left's protests are often attended by unhinged, threatening morons, you never know when someone will show up with a sign like this (dirty word warning). Wasn't a problem with MSM sycophants writing the record; but with Zombie taking pictures and the blogosphere publishing them, the angry protests have become counterproductive.

And as I said over at Hot Air:

The thing is the moonbats have figured that out as well. It’s not just Harry Reid trying to pull back from MoveOn. Notice they’ve dialed back the massive street protests as the election approaches? They’ve been burned too many times by photos of freakazoids holding up signs that say “Peace in Our Time” or “We Support Our Troops When They Shoot Our Officers” percolating through the blogosphere. Except for the Code Pink/Rosie O’Donnell Fan Club, who didn’t get the memo that antiwar has gone corporate.

I predict that anti-victory weirdos will continue to make fools of themselves, especially in the Bay Area, both because they think that these demonstrations will accomplish something and because they enjoy it so much. (And because it's the Bay Area--a place where "activist" is not just a profession, but a respected one--and where these America-hatred hoedowns are legitimate civic events like homecoming parades are for sane America.) But the more strategic among them will realize that America prefers its politics to be accomplished in smoky rooms instead of in the streets, and shift their efforts that direction.

More photographic evidence, from Sniper One, below the fold. Again, naughty word warning:

Very true. The newspaper will show photos of protestors carring signs of peace, but now they can’t hide the signs that say things like “We support the troops when they SHOOT their officers” anymore.
