All That Crap At Columbia
I've gotta say I'm getting kind of a Kerri Dunn vibe off of all the recent unpleasantness at Columbia U.
I'm certainly not accusing the professor of hanging that noose on her own door. It's a ghastly insult she's endured and she's the victim here. It's just that I'd lay even money that this was a leftist student group trying another example of what Powerline called "the Reichstag Gambit". You know, like the leftist thugs at GWU who put up "We hate Arabs" posters and pretended they were from YAF in order to get YAF kicked off campus.
Whoever did that at Columbia and whatever their politics, they need, in the Ivy League idiom, a sound thrashing.
Meanwhile President Bollinger is condemning anti-Semitic graffiti in the Columbia bathrooms, explaining that only the President of Iran is allowed to say things like that on Columbia's campus, because it's educational and a fantastic opportunity to learn about other cultures when he says it, but it's bad and intolerable when other, less exotic people do it.
