RE: Larry Craig
Sirs:
In the Oct. 15th edition of the DC Examiner, a "senior Republican aide" is quoted as saying that you
may decide to do nothing at all in an effort to stop drawing attention to the matter. An ethics investigation is pending, but some aides believe senators may drop it out of fear it will harm the Senate’s image.Leaving Larry Craig in office will harm the Senate's image. I understand that you may be thinking, "Hey, we already have a former Kleagle and a fellow whose driving drowned a campaign volunteer serving in the Senate; one more creepy reprobate won't hurt anything." Let me assure you that while you may wish to stop drawing attention to the matter, the media and the blogosphere do not. Whatever happened in that Minneapolis john, Senator Craig promised to resign from the Senate if his appeal was denied on Sept. 30th. It was denied. He decided to stay.
The man is at best a liar and his continued presence in the Senate brings it into disrepute. Please deal with him. You can separate yourself from him and isolate him, and try to force him from office, or you can endorse his conduct.
Come on. Impress me.
