In other news, I mentioned the LaShish/ Nada Prouty story (linked at the word "one", above, to a friend who said "We used to eat there! Back when it was called Rick's, before the current owner! They had this great appetizer where they would roast an entire head of elephant garlic and serve it to you with some flat bread and you would just spread it around...delicious! Also, one of the Detroit papers ran some items about the people at LaShish cheering the fall of the Towers on Sept. 11th. They denied it, but everyone was like, uh huh, whatever."

P.S. People are wondering, how could this (the Prouty story) happen? My off the cuff answer: intelligence and law enforcement are desperate for Arabic speakers, and willing to cut corners to bring people in.
