A heartwarming story of accepting risk and granting forgiveness
Not.
What a delight to meet this fine gentlemen, who maintains such an outstanding sense of perspective and proportion:
A 60-year-old man is taking an 8-year-old boy and his dad to court, claiming the third-grader caused a ski-slope collision that left the older man with a shoulder injury. This boy was 7 years old at the time of the accident, and weighed all of 48 pounds. Fortunately the boy's youth didn't deter our Mr. David Pfahler, whose quick wit and cat-like reflexes allowed him to take charge of the situation:
The boy told Pfahler he was sorry and started to ski away when the man grabbed Scott’s legs, cursed at him and said he would sue...But I am saddened that Mr. Pfahler didn't have the mental acuity to add "hate crime against the elderly" to the young miscreant's list of crimes.
