More drugs and money laundering; no Hillary connection this time
Had some good reaction to this post on the Democratic donor under investigation for allegedly laundering drug money. Also had some good reaction a while back to these two posts about the lack of outrage about the worldwide cocaine trade.
If you're interested in those subjects, take some time and look at this thorough report on worldwide money laundering in the new, free, no-subscription-required Wall Street Journal. And the attached video's pretty cool as well, talking about the African connection mentioned in the second link above. In ten years, I fear Africa will have a drug problem every bit as serious as Colombia's or Burma's.
You know, if the EU would bite the bullet and stop printing €500 and €200 notes, it would inconvenience these smugglers and money launderers quite a bit. Think about it; they'd have to make two to five times as many trips to move an equivalent total in €100 notes. If I'm not mistaken, that's why the US stopped printing the $1000 bill.
