Wuzzadem: Cowboy Up and Pick a Candidate, Bloggers
Mrs. R, makin' friends:
Dear Crybaby:It's addressed to a "Composite of Disgruntled Conservative Whiners Who Hate Huckabee But Can't, In Good Conscience, Support Any of the Other GOP Candidates with Much, if Any, Enthusiasm". Enthusiasm can be noxious and cloying, too--and there's no need to mention that name again-- but on the other hand, there does come a point where, if you are a blogger who follows the news more closely than most people do and (claims to) think more deeply about it than most people, you'll reach a decision. Do you really believe that more, useful information about these guys is coming down the pipeline that will finally enable you to make up your mind? What would that information be?We all know how distraught you are over Iowa, and why, and your points are well taken. No need to keep blubbering or throwing empty pizza boxes at the wall. We get it. Now what?
...
I know, I know...It's difficult for any self-respecting Dude with Integrity to support a presidential candidate who doesn't share the same values, sophisticated tastes, and reason for living.
Sorry, guys. I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but an openly-adolescent fortysomething porndog who will ban abortion and waterboard James Dobson just isn't in the cards, at least not this time around.
When you think about it, all these folks did was get up off their asses and exercise their right to support and vote for the candidate of their choice. I'm sure most of them were completely unaware of how adversely their actions would affect you, Mr. Real Conservative, who refuses to come out and support any candidate because to do so would seriously harsh your cool factor.I don't think bloggers need to endorse candidates, but on the other hand, if they don't develop some clearly-expressed preferences I start to wonder what they're holding back. Most people who consider the same information have a favorite by now, if only a reluctant or wistful one. The blogosphere isn't the MSM; transparency in prejudices and preferences is encouraged instead of clumsily stuffing them behind a tattered curtain of objectivity.
That said, Mrs. R goes for McCain, and spurns Fred for (sigh) exactly the wrong reason: "...unlike this particular candidate, I sense that McCain really wants to win this thing."
P.S. Am I standing on a mushy middle ground here? Why yes, I believe I am!
