Let's All Give FARC Leader Ivan Rios a Hand
He needs one; his "security chief" Rojas cut off Rios' right hand and brought it in to Colombian authorities, along with his laptop and passport (and hey, this way they can tell the fingerprints match!) The security chief says he killed Rios and cut his hand off, presumably to collect the $5 million reward. Which won't look good on his security-chief resume, now, will it?
FARC's having a tough week, after having their camp in Ecuador raided and another of their top officials killed last weekend and now their chief gunrunner being picked up in a long-planned DEA sting--which was, incidentally, based on a tip from an informant, which of course makes me think it was Mister Security Chief Rojas again. Spend the money quick, pal.
As for Rios...are we sure he's dead? I mean, a one-handed leader in a remote location, building a fighting FARC of extraordinary magnitude, forging their spirits in the tradition of our ancestors...I've heard that song before:
