Interesting question. Not a lot of definite answers there, but I chuckled at the last quip:
If you want to know why conservatives don't get doctorates, maybe it's because they just don't like hanging out with the people who do.
Those who can, DO! Those who can’t get their PH.Ds and teach others who can’t either.
I started mine in September, but work has blown up in my face over the past 4 months, so I’m now dropping out. It’s the second time I’ve started a PhD and then prioritized work ahead of the degree.
Because people like me, who got one, tell other bright young people “it was a big mistake, I’d be rich now if I’d gotten a real job instead”.
Conservatives get plenty of them. The doctorates are just in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, etc - not the fuzzy subjects Liberals seem to prefer.
So many Liberals have PhD’s only because so many of them have made careers out of going to school instead of working. If I spent my entire life going to school, drinking lattes, eating Falafels, smoking lawn clippings and downing wheat beer to avoid having to work and, at one time, to avoid the draft, I would eventually have a PhD, too.
