"Obama Denies"

I was struck by the number of times I've read "Obama denies this" and "Obama denies that." Poor guy - he must be the most misunderstood man in America, forced to constantly deny peoples' interpretations of his statements and actions. Here are some examples, all from this year:

• Obama Denies Shift on Iraq Position (7/3/08)
• Obama Denies Rebuking Clark (7/1/08)
• Obama Denies Charge he Peddles 'White Guilt' (6/26/08)
• Obama Denies E-mail Relationship with Scarlett Johansson (6/25/08)
• Obama Denies Filling Out Questionnaire That Bears His Handwriting (6/17/08)
• Obama Denies 'Whitey' Rumor (6/13/08)
• Obama Denies 'Silence' On Gay Issues (4/10/08)
• Obama Denies Pledge to Teamsters to End Federal Oversight (5/5/08)
• Obama Denies Assuring Canada on NAFTA (3/3/08)
• Obama Denies Stock Conflict (3/8/08)
• Obama Denies Plagiarism (2/18/08)
• Barack Obama Denies Snubbing Hillary Clinton (1/29/08)

And they claimed George Bush was in a state of denial.
